About the Program
The Master's program in Literary Composition is a two-year writer's education aimed at those who write fiction in Swedish, Norwegian (Bokmål or Nynorsk), or Danish. During the education, Scandinavian literature is written, discussed, and developed through literature seminars, text conversations, supervision, and meetings with literary actors.
Education
- The education is full-time, and the group that is admitted follows each other and each other's authorship closely over the two years.
- The group meets in two-week meetings six to seven times per academic year. To these meetings, the 12 participants contribute with their own newly written fictional material.
- Between meetings, each participant works independently on their writing and reading. All participants are expected to be accustomed to working independently on their own fictional projects; therefore, traditional writing assignments are usually not given.
- Text conversations and seminars about other literature build up continuous conversations over two years, conversations that deepen and change due to the texts written and the texts read and discussed.
Teachers and Staff
- The teachers are active, Scandinavian writers.
- The education is also regularly visited by other writers and by people from other fields of knowledge.
