Program Overview


Elementary Education Program

The Elementary Education undergraduate program at UAB blends the evolving needs of young learners with the professional development of future teachers in rural, urban, and suburban classrooms. Our program is built around the pedagogy, content knowledge, assessment, and classroom management skills teachers and young learners need to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.


Program Details

  • The program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree.
  • Students who complete the program coursework and all requirements outlined in the UAB undergraduate catalog will receive a baccalaureate degree and be eligible to apply for Alabama Class B professional teaching certificates in elementary education (grades K–6).
  • The major is offered on-campus.
