UAB Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program
Welcome to the UAB Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program
The UAB Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program is unique due to its commitment to:
- Balance with equally strong internal medicine and pediatric categorical programs in a nationally renowned academic medical center and free-standing children's hospital that serve patients of all backgrounds.
- Education with opportunities to learn from renowned leaders in medical education with expertise in primary care and subspecialties through an array of conferences, morning reports, and diverse clinical settings, including unique opportunities in healthcare transition and specialized tracks and scholars programs.
- Individualized mentorship and flexibility to create schedules tailored to each resident's career goals—whether in primary care, hospital medicine, Med-Peds subspecialties, or academic medicine. Residents receive support not only from Med-Peds leadership but also from categorical program chiefs and directors who are responsive to feedback and advocate actively for improvements.
