Program Overview

International Studies Program

The International Studies program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global issues and perspectives. The program offers a major and a minor, as well as an honors program for qualified students.

Honors Program

The ITS Honors Program is designed for qualified, self-motivated International Studies majors. Students in the honors program work on a one-on-one basis with a faculty mentor, develop an original honors thesis, and graduate with "Honors in International Studies." The honors program provides students with substantive real-world benefits, including prestigious careers in the public, private, and non-profit sector, or admission to prominent graduate programs in International Studies or related disciplines.

Honors Society

As a member of the ITS Honors Program, students have the opportunity to join the Beta Tau chapter of Sigma Iota Rho (SIR), the national Honor Society for International Studies. To be eligible for membership, students must be juniors with an overall 3.3 GPA and a 3.4 GPA in International Studies courses. The lifetime membership fee is $45. Membership in Sigma Iota Rho enhances the credentials of its members by publicly recognizing their devotion to International Studies and representing the best and brightest in the field.
