Selection Policy
The selection policy considers academic records, letters of recommendation, USMLE or COMLEX scores, supplemental application, and applicants' personal statement. Due to a high volume of applications, interviews will be offered only to applicants who signal (gold or silver) the program.
Interview Information
Interviews are held virtually beginning in early November, with a "second look" opportunity available for interested interviewed candidates in February.
Location
The UAB Montgomery Internal Medicine program is located at 2055 East South Boulevard, Suite 200, Montgomery, AL 36116.
Campuses
The program has campuses in Montgomery, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa, with the Montgomery campus offering Clinical Clerkships, Internal Medicine Residency, and Psychiatry Residency.
Internal Medicine Residency
The Internal Medicine Residency program is a three-year program that leads to board eligibility in internal medicine. Approximately seven Categorical Program positions are offered each year. The program uses Thalamus for scheduling and re-scheduling interviews.
Application Process
Only electronic applications submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) are accepted. Applicants are strongly advised to signal (gold or silver) the program, as the program is unlikely to interview applicants who do not signal. Due to a large volume of applicant inquiries, applicants are requested not to contact the program via email or telephone, but instead signal the program to signify interest.
