Program Overview


Industriell teknik

The Industriell teknik program is a three-year higher education engineering program that begins with a common first year, providing students with fundamental engineering knowledge. In the second year, students take courses in industrial technology that are common to the entire program, before specializing in one of the four profiles: Hĺllbar produktion, Industriell driftsäkerhet, Klimatsmart energiförsörjning, or Material för cirkulära flöden.


Ĺrskurs 1

In the first year, students take introductory courses that provide perspective on technology and the engineering role. They learn the basics of project work methodology, group dynamics, presentation techniques, and take technical courses that are central to the education. In a final project course, students apply the knowledge and skills they have learned during the year.


Ĺrskurs 2 and 3 Fördjupning med vald profil

After about half of the education, students specialize in one of the four profiles. Before that, they will have taken common courses in these subjects and had the opportunity to feel which profile suits them best. Within all profiles, theory is combined with practice to provide students with broad competence, based on both the latest research and industrial applications in the field.


Profiles

The program offers four profiles:


  • Hĺllbar produktion: Focuses on driving a production plant in a way that is sustainable for people, the economy, and the environment. The focus is on resource efficiency and producing products that meet quality and circularity requirements.
  • Industriell driftsäkerhet: Involves monitoring and ensuring the quality of production with a focus on sustainability and resource efficiency. This profile studies everything from mechanics and advanced technology to risk analysis and data processing.
  • Klimatsmart energiförsörjning: Involves learning principles for circular economy and sustainability, and applying them to supply the entire society with electricity, heat/cold, and fuel.
  • Material för cirkulära flöden: Teaches students why materials have different properties, how to choose the best materials for different applications, and how materials are recycled.

Program Structure

The program is structured to provide students with a broad foundation in engineering and industrial technology, before specializing in a specific profile. The combination of theoretical and practical knowledge prepares students for a career in industry or further research.
