SFINX Intensive Swedish for Engineers and Architects

SFINX is a program designed for foreign engineers and architects who wish to learn Swedish quickly. The program aims to provide newly arrived engineers and architects with good knowledge of Swedish, technical language, and knowledge of the Swedish labor market, thereby increasing their chances of getting employed in their relevant field.

Program Details

• The program starts with intensive Swedish language instruction, followed by a combination of Swedish studies and auditing of courses at KTH, with the goal of developing technical language skills and guiding participants into their respective professions.
• Throughout the program, SFINX participants have the opportunity for guidance and an individualized study plan.

Eligibility

The program is intended for:

• Engineers or architects with a foreign academic degree
• Individuals who have been in Sweden for a maximum of 3 years with a residence permit
• Those who have not studied beyond the basic level of Swedish (SVA grund)
• Individuals with English skills equivalent to English 6

What SFINX Offers

• Intensive Swedish language studies (starting from the participant's current level, preferably from the beginner's level)
• Courses in Swedish up to the level of Swedish as a second language, SVA3
• Auditing of KTH courses without formal eligibility requirements in Swedish
• Valuable contacts in the engineering world, for example, through relevant study visits
• Knowledge of the Swedish engineering industry and Swedish work culture

Program Structure

The SFINX program is a collaboration between KTH, the County Administrative Board, the Stockholm City, and other partners, and is part of the regional collaboration "Swedish for professionally educated" (Sfx).

SFINX collaboration partners include the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, Stockholm City, J‰rf‰lla Municipality, the Swedish Association of Engineers, and Sfx - Swedish for professionally educated in Stockholm County.
