SFINX is a program designed for foreign engineers and architects who want to learn Swedish quickly. The program aims to provide newly arrived engineers and architects with good knowledge of Swedish, technical language, and knowledge of the Swedish labor market, thereby increasing their chances of getting employed in their relevant field.

Program Description

The SFINX program starts with intensive Swedish language instruction, followed by a combination of Swedish studies and auditing courses at KTH. The program is designed to develop technical language skills and guide participants into their respective professions. Throughout the program, SFINX participants have the opportunity for guidance and an individualized study plan.

Target Group

SFINX is intended for:

• Engineers or architects with a foreign academic degree
• Individuals who have been in Sweden for a maximum of 3 years with a residence permit
• Those who have not studied beyond the basic level of Swedish (SVA grund)
• Individuals with knowledge equivalent to English 6

Program Offerings

SFINX offers:

• Intensive Swedish language studies (starting from the participant's current level, preferably from beginner level)
• Courses in Swedish up to the level of Swedish as a second language, SVA3
• Auditing of KTH courses without formal requirements for Swedish proficiency
• Valuable contacts in the engineering world, such as through relevant study visits
• Knowledge of the Swedish engineering industry and work culture

Admission

Admission to the SFINX program is handled by Stockholms Stad (SIFA). They also offer networking opportunities with other engineers and architects, as well as contact with the labor market through study visits.
