AI201X Degree Project in Building and Real Estate Economics, Second Cycle

The AI201X Degree Project in Building and Real Estate Economics is a 30.0 credit course offered at the second cycle level.


Course Contents

The degree project should be a part of a deeper study within the program area and be on an advanced level in order to fulfill the requirements for a Master of Science in Engineering degree. This means that the degree project normally should be carried out within an area that the student has been prepared for. If the student would like to carry out the degree project within a different area, this should be approved by the director of undergraduate education.


Intended Learning Outcomes

The student should:


  • Be able to apply relevant knowledge and skills that have been acquired within the main field of study, to a given problem.
  • Within given bounds, and with limited information, independently be able to analyse and discuss complex issues and be able to handle larger problems on an advanced level within the field of study.
  • Reflect about, evaluate and critically review their own and others' scientific results.
  • Be able to document and present their own work, for a given group, with high demands on structure, formal requirements and language skills.
  • Be able to identify needs for further research and be able to continuously develop their competence.

Literature and Preparations

Specific Prerequisites

  • Master of Science in Engineering 300/270 credits: The main part of the studies, at least 240 credits (if the program is 270 credits according to earlier rules, the demand is at least 210 credits) must be completed before the degree project can be started.
  • Master of Science 120 credits: The main part of the studies, at least 60 credits, including 30 credits with specialisation in the second cycle within the main field of study, must be completed before the degree project can be started.

The grading scale for this course is A, B, C, D, E, FX, F.

  • XUPP - Examination Question, 30.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from the coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.


The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.


If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
