Course Syllabus
Content and Learning Outcomes
The course covers topics such as:
- The organization of a large hospital with regard to the management and development of medical equipment
- Management of surgical equipment
- Management of Angio-room equipment
- Management of monitoring systems
- Management of hospital-wide equipment
After passing the course, students should be able to:
- Describe the management life cycle of a medical device
- Describe how a large hospital can be organized with regard to management of medical equipment
- Identify collaboration challenges between administrations, operating departments, operations, and suppliers of medical equipment
- Identify which actors in the hospital are involved in a procurement of a major medical technology equipment and describe different roles and responsibilities
Literature and Preparations
Specific Prerequisites
120 credits in technical, natural, or medical sciences, or in human resource studies. Alternatively, 2 years of professional experience in health/medical care.
