Content and Learning Outcomes

The course consists mainly of project-based teamwork, including planning, technical design, experimental investigations, and manufacturing. The technical aim is to develop an advanced naval system from specification to product, constrained by a given budget. The intended learning outcomes include:


  • Working in a project environment
  • Written and oral skills
  • Analyzing technical problems from a systems perspective
  • Using modern engineering methods and tools
  • Treating and solving technical problems subject to multiple constraints
  • Developing strategies for systematic use and choice of available engineering methods

Literature and Preparations

  • Specific prerequisites: The course is aimed at students in the first or second year of a Master's program in engineering. Bachelor of engineering with working knowledge in Matlab, mechanics, algebra, and calculus is required. English B / English 6.
