About the Basic Life Support (BLS) Course
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is accredited by the American Heart Association and is designed to teach participants the essential life-saving skills for providing high-quality CPR and managing cardiovascular emergencies.

Course Description
The BLS course emphasizes the importance of team dynamics, early defibrillation, and effective interventions for adults, children, and infants. Participants will learn how to perform high-quality CPR, understand the American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival, and recognize the importance of early AED usage.
Audience
This course is suitable for:
- Healthcare providers such as paramedics, nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals
- Individuals requiring BLS certification as part of their job or training requirements
- Any individual with an interest in learning critical life-saving techniques
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- Understand the American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival, with a focus on the BLS components
- Recognize the importance of early AED usage and demonstrate its application
- Deliver effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Appreciate the role of teamwork in multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform effectively as a team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- Demonstrate the relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
Terms and Conditions
Registration Terms and Conditions
Registration is through the KSU Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College for Emergency Medical Services website, with the required personal data:
- Full name as it will appear in the certificate
- Valid email address
- Course fees must be paid to ensure registration is confirmed
- Contact information will be added to the PSCEMS automated mailing list for educational, research, and marketing purposes
Attending Courses
- Courses are held at PSCEMS- KSU Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College for Emergency Medical Services
- Maintain attendance and leaving time according to pre-set session time
- Demonstrate the values and ethics of attending training courses
Certificates
- To obtain the course certificate, the trainee must attend the entire training course
- Passing the tests (if applicable)
- The certificate will be sent within one week of the last day of the course
Cancellation and Refund
- If the participant wants to cancel the registration application or postpone the attendance date, an application must be submitted to the KSU PSCEMS - Business unit at least 30 days before the session
- Courses scheduled within less than 30 days cannot be rescheduled or fees refunded
- In the event of a medical excuse, the course will be rescheduled for one time only without penalty
- The participant has the right to recover the course fees if the course is canceled by the KSU Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College for Emergency Medical Services
AHA Courses Guidelines
Dear AHA HS, BLS, ACLS, and PALS Students, welcome to the AHA basic and advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider Courses.
- Please plan to arrive on time, as it will be difficult for late students to catch up once the course starts
- Students are expected to attend and participate in the entire course
Precourse Requirements
You should prepare for the class by:
- Reviewing and understanding the information in your HS, BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider Manual
- Reviewing, understanding, and passing the mandatory precourse self-assessment for ACLS and PALS Provider courses
- Reviewing, understanding, and completing the mandatory precourse work (video lessons) for ACLS and PALS Provider courses
What to Bring and What to Wear
- Bring your HS, BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider Manual or eBook to each class
- Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to class, as you will be practicing skills that require you to work on your hands and knees.
