Program Overview
Clinical Pharmacy Master Program
The Master's program in Clinical Pharmacy comprises five full-time semesters after the Bachelor's degree. This program prepares graduates to assume their professional role in advanced clinical and hospital pharmacy practice in various work settings, such as hospitals, primary healthcare, health education, and healthcare institutions across both governmental and private sectors.
Program Description
The program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and abilities in theoretical and clinical treatments, placing them in key practice sites. Students acquire essential skills and abilities in fields of theoretical and clinical treatments, positioning them in basic, applied, and clinical practice institutions.
Study Requirements
- The program duration is five semesters.
- Additional time is only granted with the approval of the department council and in exceptional circumstances, such as illness or military service.
- The study takes place at the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University and in chosen hospitals.
- Students must complete 27 credit hours of theoretical lectures and courses, 24 credit hours of field clinical training courses, and 3 credit hours for the research project.
- Students are evaluated through written examinations for each course and continuous evaluation of the skills acquired in the training courses.
Training Methods
- Formal lectures and practical lessons
- Clinical training under constant supervision in the hospital
- Research activities under the supervision of faculty members in the hospital or laboratory
- Short lectures and reports on the research project
Program Structure
The program consists of two levels:
- Three semesters of theoretical courses
- Two semesters of periodic clinical training, focusing on clinical implications relating to research studies through intensive lectures on pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, hospital pharmacy management, and clinical immunology during the first three semesters.
