International Economy and Trade (Sino-France International Experimental Class)

Class Profile

The International Economy and Trade program is a collaborative effort with the French Business School (ESC RENNES), aiming to cultivate talents in the new service trade field with international vision and international business negotiation capabilities. Students will graduate with solid English, French skills, and knowledge in international economic and trade, growing into "international trade + English + French" interdisciplinary, compound, international business talents.


The French business school has obtained the three-authority certification of AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, and is known as the Crown Institute, one of the top international business schools. The school's Master in Management program ranked 35th in the 2016 Financial Times' Global Master of Management degree, and MSc in International Finance ranked 24th in the 2018 Financial Times' Global Master of International Finance.


Program Structure

The class implements the 3+1.5 international school-running model, where students spend 3 years of undergraduate study at Shandong University, Weihai Campus, followed by 1.5 years of postgraduate study in Rennes, France. After completing the undergraduate course at Shandong University, Weihai, students can choose one of the 15 master's programs in the business school, recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education.


Cultivate Features

  • A series of courses, including service economics, service outsourcing, service trade theory frontier, service industry globalization, and WTO service trade rules, have been added to the training program, enabling students to master the latest theories of service trade and understand the new trend of global service trade rules construction.
  • Courses such as big data analysis and application, python and machine learning, digital trade, and digital marketing have been added to enable students to understand emerging service formats and master newer analytical methods.
  • The proportion of training courses has been increased, with digital simulation and cross-border e-commerce virtual simulation training added, combining theoretical teaching and simulation to improve the theoretical teaching effect and strengthen the practical operation ability of students.

Employment Orientation

Graduates are suitable for relevant jobs in various international economic organizations, business enterprises in French-speaking and English-speaking countries, foreign economic departments of domestic government, multinational corporations, public institutions, and banking financial institutions. They can also receive further education at home or abroad.
