Introduction to the Cinema Room
The Cinema Room of the University of Valencia is a space for creation, reflection, and training dedicated to cinematographic culture, where the university community and society intersect. Through the Vice-Rectorate of Culture and Society, the Cinema Room aims to promote an integral educational experience through cinema, while driving critical reflection and the dissemination of audiovisual heritage in a context of innovation and social inclusion.
Mission
The Cinema Room's mission is to provide cinematographic training and dissemination at the University of Valencia, contributing to the cultural enrichment of the university community and society. We promote the creation of networks between audiovisual professionals, students, and the general community, creating spaces for dialogue and learning around cinema and its capacity for social transformation.
Objectives
- Formation and audiovisual dissemination: Offer continuous and quality training in the audiovisual field, with specialized courses and spaces for disseminating cinematographic research. This contributes to the education of future professionals in the sector.
- Collaboration with the audiovisual sector: Promote strategic alliances with festivals, public institutions, and the third sector, strengthening ties with the University and supporting the film industry.
- Visibility and access to quality cinema: Disseminate quality cinema through programs at the Cinema Room, the Cultural Center La Nau, and the UV campuses and headquarters, with the aim of expanding the scope and diversity of cinematographic activities for the entire university community and the general public.
- Active participation of students: Encourage student involvement in the world of cinema, through meetings with filmmakers, critics, and sector professionals, as well as collaborative activities between students.

Through this approach, the Cinema Room is configured as a dynamic and inclusive space, with a firm commitment to equality, diversity, and the promotion of cinematographic culture in all its aspects.
