Bachelor of Computer and Networking Engineering Technology Degree Program
The Bachelor of Computer and Networking Engineering Technology (CNET) combines the practical skills needed to apply ever-advancing technologies with the solid business principles required to thrive in an enterprise-oriented world. Through a modern educational approach and state-of-the-art facilities, this program delivers less theory and more technology-based practice in areas such as network security and administration; network operating systems; and wireless networks.
Program Overview
The program will provide students with plenty of hands-on experience right from the first year and help them build a strong skill set upon graduation. CNET graduates have a 100% employment rate owing to the diverse and comprehensive skills they develop in the computer network, software, and hardware technology domain.

The program will prepare students for professional certifications such as CCNA, Network+, and MCSA, and provides a direct link to the Cisco Networking Academy program, which is a dynamic educational course that teaches students relevant technology skills. The program requires 133 credit hours, which are distributed as follows:

- Faculty Requirements: 21 credit hours

- Major/Specific Requirements: 79 credit hours
University Requirements
The university requirements represent 24 credits, out of which 21 credits are for compulsory courses. Every student is required to take the mandatory credit hours that cover:
- English Language
- Fundamentals in Innovation and Entrepreneurship 1&2
- Entrepreneurship 1 & 2
- Islamic Culture
- UAE Society
- Communication Skills in Arabic (1)
- One course in Humanities
Faculty Requirements
All students who will enroll in the Bachelor of CNET program must complete 7 compulsory courses (21 credit hours), which include:
- Project Management
- Calculus I
- Probability and Statistics
- Computer Networks Fundamentals
- Modern Physics
- Programming I
- Programming II
Department Requirements
All students who will enroll in the Bachelor of CNET program must complete 3 compulsory courses (9 credit hours), which include:
- Database Management Systems
- Ethics for Computing Professionals
- Discrete Mathematics
Major/Elective Courses
All students who will enroll in the Bachelor of CNET must complete the 25 compulsory specialized courses (73 credit hours). They also must complete 2 elective major courses (6 credit hours) from the pool of 4 elective courses.

The proposed study plan for completing all requirements of the program ensures a gradual acquisition and accumulation of knowledge and skills over 8 semesters. The plan includes:
- Semester 1: English I, Fundamental of Digital Systems, Calculus I, e-Business Fundamentals, Programming I, and Fundamentals in Innovation and Entrepreneurship 1
- Semester 2: Discrete Mathematics, English II, Principles of Marketing, Computer Networks Fundamentals, Programming II, and Fundamentals in Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2

Internship
The internship is a mandatory course of an undergraduate program with the purpose of providing students with an opportunity to have professional work experience in a setting related to the student's major. The duration of an internship is based on the program of study. However, all undergraduate students from Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Architecture, and Interior Design are expected to spend at least sixteen (16) weeks at an organization providing internship experience.
