Bachelor of Augmented and Virtual Reality

The Bachelor of Augmented and Virtual Reality is a 11-trimester full-time program that provides students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the AR/VR industry. The program covers a range of topics, including:

• Principles of design
• Introduction to video and editing
• Study skills
• Free hand drawing
• Introduction to audio and sound

Course Structure

The program is divided into 11 semesters, each covering a range of topics and skills. The course structure includes:

• Semester 1: Principles of design, introduction to video and editing, study skills, free hand drawing, introduction to audio and sound, life skills
• Semester 2: Managing software projects, intermediate English, introduction to VR/AR technology, introduction to 3D asset creation, research, writing skills, and media and culture overview
• Semester 3: 3D animation techniques, developing AR applications, developing VR applications
• Semester 4: Character modeling, employability skills in the creative industries, introduction to screenwriting, military sciences, contemporary industrial practices
• Semester 5: Mixed reality hardware, advanced character animation and production rendering, introduction to game design, game audio production skills, scholarly perspectives on computer mediated reality
• Semester 6: Computer mediated reality major project, introduction to object oriented programming in Java, motion graphics and animation
• Semester 7: Visual programming, shading and rendering techniques, marketing, branding and communication, VR and stereo lighting and rendering, digital marketing and social media
• Semester 8: VR and motion capture technologies, introduction to artificial intelligence, logical math and critical thinking, VFX and dynamics for game engines
• Semester 9: AR and 3D scanning technologies, occupational health and safety, rigging for game engines
• Semester 10: Environment creation for game engines, heads up display creation and design, research practice and society, advanced rigging applications, entrepreneurship skills
• Semester 11: Career readiness, final project for VR/AR, final project 2 for VR/AR

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Augmented and Virtual Reality program, students must meet the following admission requirements:

• Domestic students: Jordanian General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi/Grade 12) or equivalent qualification certificate, minimum GPA of 60% (after Jordanian equivalency)
• International students: Overseas qualification equivalent to the Jordanian General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi/Grade 12), minimum GPA of 60% (after Jordanian equivalency)
