Program Overview


Introduction to the LLM International Business and Commercial Law Programme

The programme aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing commercial and business, both in the context of English and international law. Students will specialise in key subjects, including trade law, international sale of goods, commercial arbitration, and the regulation of transnational business transactions.

Programme Content

The programme enables students to specialise in subjects related to international business law, equipping them with comprehensive knowledge of the legal processes governing international business, through the systematic and critical understanding of topics relevant to international business transactions such as trade law, international sale of goods, and commercial arbitration.

Entry Requirements

  • Academic Requirements: The University's standard entry requirement consists of a Law degree at 2:2 or Graduate Diploma in Law/CPE
  • English Language Requirements:
    • IELTS Academic: 6.0 (with 6 in Reading & Writing, min 5.5 in other components)
    • TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (Reading min 18, Writing min 21, Listening min 17, Speaking min 20)
    • Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
    • Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 6 in Reading & Writing, min 5.5 in other components)
  • Students with certain qualifications (e.g., GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level English, International Baccalaureate) may be considered as having met the English language requirements.

This programme prepares students for a wide range of careers in public and private sector organisations, multinational companies, and inter-governmental bodies requiring specialist knowledge in private and public international law frameworks regulating commercial and trade transactions, as well as mechanisms involved in the resolution of commercial disputes. Previous graduates have also continued their higher education studies via a PhD.
