Program Overview
BSc Honours Business Accounting
The BSc Honours Business Accounting programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and financial management concepts, as well as the skills to apply them in a business environment. The programme is tailored to support career ambitions, while developing a set of transferable skills to underpin career success.
Programme Overview
The programme is taught over 3 years full-time, with classes held at the Dubai Knowledge Park campus. The course leader is Dr Pallavi Kishore FCCA UAECA SFHEA. The programme requires active involvement and collaboration with fellow students, including working and learning as part of small groups.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the programme include:
- Indian Secondary School Certificates / CBSE: minimum grade of 65% overall
- British A-Levels: minimum Two or Three with grades AA / BBC
- GCSE: students who have completed their GCSEs are eligible to join the International Foundation Programme
- International Baccalaureate: students must have passed the full IB Diploma with 24 28 Points
- American High School Diploma: minimum GPA of 2.8, with SAT scores of 1100 or an ACT composite score of 23
- Tawjihiyya (Secondary School Certificate): students who have completed the Tawjihiyya will be eligible to apply for the International Foundation Programme
- Pakistani National Curriculum: completion of Year 1 at a recognised post-secondary institution
- Iranian Pre-University Certificate: minimum overall grade of 12
- Nigerian Senior School Leaving Certificate: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- National Curriculum of the countries of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- West African GCE: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- BTEC Level 3: BTEC Level 3 qualifications may be considered for direct entry into an undergraduate programme
- Middlesex University International Foundation Programme (IFP): successful completion of the Middlesex University International Foundation Programme
- NCUK Foundation Qualification: if you have a foundation qualification from NCUK, you can contact the admissions team directly to understand entry requirement eligibility for this programme
English Language Requirements
All programmes at Middlesex University Dubai are taught in English, and applicants with previous education outside of English-speaking countries must demonstrate English language proficiency as follows:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading)
- Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
- Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)

- An introduction to bookkeeping and financial accounting
- The basic accounting tools that aid management with its core functions of planning, decision making and control
- The application of contemporary issues in business environments and how corporate practices are responding to the increasing demand on non-financial performance
- The economic context within which business decision-making occurs
- The analysis and presentation of accounting and economic data
- The significant role accounting information plays in each fundamental business transaction process
