Program Overview

MSc Network Management and Cloud Computing

The MSc Network Management and Cloud Computing programme is designed to provide students with a systematic understanding of network management, cloud computing, and related technologies. This applied course will give students an in-depth understanding of network management, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and standards for network management, network management protocols, and network management tools.

• Operating Systems for Secure Environments (15 Credits)
• Research Methods and Postgraduate Project (60 Credits)
• Network Security Principles and Mechanisms (15 Credits)
• Enterprise Troubleshooting and Network Forensics (15 Credits)
• Virtualisation and Cloud Infrastructure Management (30 Credits)
• Network Management and Disaster Recovery (30 Credits)
• Programming, Systems, and Networks for Modern Computing (15 Credits)

Programme Content

The programme content includes:

• An awareness and understanding of the increasing value that information management provides to business objectives
• The ability to involve both management and users in the process of awareness, decision, and implementation of computer networks

• Industry engagement opportunities through industry speakers and field trips

Entry Requirements

• Minimum second-class honours degree (UK) or equivalent overseas qualification in computer science or networks, or a field that provided significant exposure to IT
• English Language Requirements:
  • IELTS Academic: 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component)
  • TOEFL Internet-based: 79 (Reading min 18, Writing min 21, Listening min 17, Speaking min 20)
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
  • Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component)

Teaching

• Classes are held at the Dubai Knowledge Park campus on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm
• Occasional weekend or holiday sessions may be scheduled with prior notice
• Most modules include one session per week, with exceptions noted in the timetable
