  • The aim of the programme is to develop performance analysts with expertise to design evidence-based, sport-specific performance analysis interventions driven by a critical needs analysis.
  • Throughout the programme, students will develop essential reflective and practical skills for communicating complex data to coaches and athletes, while also honing their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Programme Modules

  • Advanced Performance Analysis (30 Credits): This module aims to allow students to gain a systematic understanding of performance analysis of sport. It also aims to develop the students' research skills, so they are able to disseminate complex information to both coaches and athletes with the aim of providing greater insight to performance.
  • Sport Data Analytics and Visualisation (30 Credits): This module focuses on developing data analysis and visualisation skills. Students will learn to visualise data in a variety of software packages such as spreadsheets and business intelligence software.
  • Professional Placement (30 Credits): This module aims to develop students' ability to apply and see the application of knowledge gained from other modules in relation to a real work scenario.
  • Research Methods (30 Credits): This module aims to equip students with the relevant knowledge and skills to undertake appropriate research in their chosen subject areas.
  • Independent Project (60 Credits): The aim of this module is to guide students through an independent project where they are tasked with selecting and formulating a specific question or challenge that contributes to the generation of original knowledge to their field of study.

  • Academic Requirements: A second-class honours degree 2:2 or above in a sport or exercise science related field.
  • English Language Requirements:
    • IELTS Academic: 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band)
    • TOEFL Internet-based: 79 (Reading min 18, Writing min 21, Listening min 17, Speaking min 20)
    • Pearson PTE Academic: 58
    • GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level English (as a first or second language): Grade C / Grade 4 or Higher
    • CBSE/ISC Boards/NIOS/Most State Boards: Minimum Grade of 70% in English
    • International Baccalaureate: Minimum of Grade 5 in English B (Higher Level) in IB Diploma
    • WAEC/WASSCE/SSSCE/NECO: C6
