Bachelor in Geography and Planning

The Bachelor in Geography and Planning is a three-year program offered by Sorbonne University, taught by international academics at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. Program Description

Curriculum

The curriculum focuses on practical experience through numerous internship opportunities locally and internationally in urban planning, sustainable development, risk management, and regional expertise. The first two years concentrate on the earth's environment (topography, hydrography, climate) and community spaces (from culture to economy). In the third year, students enhance their skills through case studies (Asia, the Middle East, Europe) and thematic courses (risks, logistics and transport services, humanitarian issues, urban planning).


Skills and Tools

Students are trained to use and apply professional mapping and data management tools, including remote sensing, statistical data processing, and geographic information systems. A computer lab and individual learning sessions are available to support their learning.

By the end of the program, students will be qualified to understand major regional challenges, such as environmental impacts of communities, urban expansion, sustainable development, social inequalities, economic and tourist development, and heritage protection.
