Programme Description

The programme is delivered in Arabic by international experts and professionals and combines six modules of intensive courses to develop professional expertise in areas as diverse as legislation, conservation and preservation, management of current, semi-current and e-archives material, classification, strategies, policies and procedures related to the archival field. It will incorporate a mix of theoretical principles and practical exercises for a well-rounded learning experience.

Beneficiaries

The programme engages a diverse range of beneficiaries across government, private, and GCC entities. These beneficiaries include representatives from key UAE government organizations such as the Department of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Culture and Tourism, Department of Health, Crown Prince Court, Ministry of Defense, and Abu Dhabi Executive Office, among others. Similarly, the course welcomes professionals from private sector organizations including Arabtec and ONE ECM, as well as regional institutions such as the National Archives and BAPCO in Bahrain, and the National Center for Archives and Records in Saudi Arabia.

Training Location

Depending on the number of students, the training may be carried out either in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

The programme has a partnership with the National Library and Archives (NLA) in the UAE, with whom a Memorandum of Agreement was renewed in February 2023. The professional, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes have been designed in collaboration with the NLA to fulfil the market job requirements in this field. Professionals and experts from the NLA contribute to support these academic programmes by being involved in some applied works, internships, and current research projects.
