Program Overview

The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Human Resource Management) program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and the skills needed to manage modern workplace challenges. The program encompasses topics such as employment relations, workplace health and safety, organizational behavior, and applied psychology.

Program Structure

To qualify for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Psychological Science (Human Resource Management), a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 144 credit points, which include core subjects covering essential topics focused on psychology, subjects from the chosen major, and elective subjects.

Program Outcomes

Accreditation and Recognition

All degrees at the University of Wollongong in Dubai are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the UAE Ministry of Education and are licensed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). In addition, the degree is quality assured by UOW, which is registered with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national regulator of the higher education sector in Australia.

Professional Accreditation

The three-year Bachelor of Psychological Science and the additional honours year are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council as a four-year sequence for the purposes of provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Psychological Science is possible through direct entry in alignment with UOW Australia admission requirements or through the successful completion of a Freshman Year. The requirements based on the most common high school curricula are listed below:

• UAE: Al-Thanawiyya Al-Aama (70% for Advanced Track, 75% for General Track)
• Arab Countries: Al-Thanawiyyah Al-Aama (70%)
• American High School Diploma: Overall average grade of C (70% or 2.5/4.0) + SAT 1100
• Bangladesh: HSC (GPA of 4.0/5.0 for Advanced Entry, GPA of 3.0/5.0 for Direct Entry)
• Brazil: Brazil Higher Secondary Certificate (60%)
• British GCE Curriculum: Minimum 5 IGCSE/GCSE subjects – Grade D and Minimum of 3 A level subjects – Grade CCD
• Chinese Senior High School: 80% for Advanced Entry, 60% for Direct Entry
• Colombia: Título de Bachiller Académico (3 out of 5 or 6 out of 10)
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: 25 Points for Advanced Entry, 21 Points for Direct Entry
• India: CBSE & ICSE, Grade 12 (65% for Advanced Entry, 50% for Direct Entry)
• Iran: Pre-University Certificate (14 for Advanced Entry, 11 for Direct Entry)
• Japan: Upper Secondary School Diploma (3.8 out of 5 for Advanced Entry, 2.5 out of 5 for Direct Entry)
• Kenya: 60 for Advanced Entry, 31 for Direct Entry
• Mexico: 6 out of 10 for Direct Entry
• Nepal: School Leaving Certificate Examination (3 out of 4 for Advanced Entry, 2.3 out of 4 for Direct Entry)
• Nigeria: WAEC & NECO (Minimum of 7 subjects with no more than 1 "Pass" for Direct Entry)
• Pakistan: Higher Secondary School Certificate (88% for Advanced Entry, 65% for Direct Entry)
• CIS Countries: Attestat (Average 3/5 for Direct Entry)
• South Korea: CSAT (77.5% for Advanced Entry, 70% for Direct Entry)

English Language Requirements

At UOWD, all classes are taught in English, and students will need to submit one of the following certificates of English language proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 and Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking for Advanced Entry, Overall IELTS (Academic) score of 5.0 for Direct Entry
• TOEFL: 86 with not less than 18 in Reading & Writing, 17 Listening and Speaking for Advanced Entry, 40 overall for Direct Entry
• Pearson: 62 overall with Minimum 54 PTE Communicative Skill Scores for Advanced Entry, 42 overall for Direct Entry

Credit for Prior Learning

If seeking advanced standing status, students must submit an official academic transcript showing all courses studied and the grades achieved, syllabus details for the courses completed, and an explanation of the grading system.

Supporting Documentation

Students must ensure that all required documents accompany their application for admission, including:

• An original or certified copy of secondary school records
• A Statement or Certificate of Completion of secondary school
• Proof of English language proficiency
• UAE ID (if applying from within the UAE)
• A copy of their passport (and Residence Visa, if resident in the UAE)

Tuition Fees

The yearly fees for the program are AED 60,429 / USD 16,466, inclusive of 5% VAT. Note that yearly fees will vary depending on the number of subjects enrolled in.
