The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) Cairo Campus offers a range of academic programs and services to support student success.

Academics

The university is divided into several faculties, including:

Student Success Program (SSP)

The SSP is designed to support students in their academic journey, providing immediate help through study strategies, identification of learning styles, and connecting students to other supports and resources on campus.

Eligibility

Any UPEI student who is not receiving the marks they would like may enroll in the SSP. Students are either referred to the SSP as a condition of their academic probation or register voluntarily as a means to improve their study skills.

Academic Support

Students receive academic support through SSP sessions, which are scheduled by the SSP officer to best fit their schedule. For students with good academic standing, academic support is provided as per student request at any point in time.

SSP Sessions

SSP sessions are generally provided in study rooms, but some sessions can be scheduled in classrooms across campus. The location of the sessions remains the same until the end of the semester.

Providers of SSP Sessions

Teaching assistants (TAs) or student mentors provide the SSP sessions for their assigned courses. Students may request a preference for a TA or student mentor, which will be accommodated if possible.

Students can apply to become a student mentor at the start of the semester. The recruitment of student mentors is announced by the Student Development office, and students can apply via student services or by visiting the SSP office.
