The Academic Programs for Military Colleges is a strategic academic partnership between Abu Dhabi University and GHQ Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates. Its aim is to produce highly qualified graduates to meet the future needs of GHQ. Please note that this program is for UAE Armed Forces Officers only.

About the Program

The program prepares armed forces officers to be military leaders by providing military science training, legal, political, and strategic knowledge, Islamic and historical culture awareness, scientific and technological knowledge, research, administrative, and language skills. Each course makes a distinct and specific contribution to achieving the general objective of the program and its sub-objectives.

Program Educational Objectives and Student Outcomes

After completing the program requirements, the graduate will be able to:

• Contribute to strategic planning
• Apply effective leadership skills
• Conduct analytical studies for the areas of operations
• Manage marine, land, and air operations
• Conduct research and studies in the military field
• Communicate effectively

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Be an affiliated officer at the Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi
• Be a graduate of Zayed II Military College, Khalifa Air College, the Naval College, or similar, and have completed 16 accredited courses in the program
• Graduates of previous staff officer classes do not need to meet the first condition, but they must have passed the requirements of the staff officer course.

• Command and Staff Requirements: 76 credit hours
• Military Requirements: 26 credit hours
• Major: 3 credit hours
• Arts & Sciences: 26 credit hours
• Total: 131 credit hours
