Program Overview


Contemporary Evidence in Lymphoedema Management

This program is designed to update knowledge and practical skills with the latest research findings on assessment and treatment of lymphoedema.


Training for Advanced Practitioners

The program includes:

    • forum activities It is an online unit that has been designed to be interactive and multimodal, enhancing the student's learning experience.

  • The program consists of 75 hours online, within the University's session timeframe.
  • The tuition fee is $1150 (plus GST).

Accreditation

The training program is accredited by the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) in accordance with the ALA Competency Standards for Lymphoedema Practitioners.


Program Schedule

The program is offered in two sessions:


  • Session 1: 23 February to 26 June 2026
  • Session 2: 27 July to 27 November 2026

Program Details

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have:


  • An Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 7 bachelor's qualification in a health degree or recognised equivalent, or
  • An accredited Australasian Lymphology Association Lymphoedema Practitioner or international equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Principles of Lymphoedema Management or accredited Australasian Lymphology Association Lymphoedema Practitioner or international equivalent.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be able to:


  • Explain the revised anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system and teachings from ICG lymphography
  • Describe the prospective surveillance and early intervention model of care in cancer rehabilitation and explain how this can be integrated into healthcare settings
  • Apply the latest evidence to develop a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for a person at risk of or living with lymphoedema and chronic oedemas
  • Discuss the individual and societal impact of lymphoedema and chronic oedema models of care

Cancellation and Transfer Policy

A cancellation request will not be considered if a student has already commenced their online learning and assessment. If a student wishes to transfer to another session, they will incur a transfer fee of $100 plus GST. This transfer fee will be waived if a student can produce a medical certificate and/or suitable evidence of adverse circumstances.
