Employers are requested to pay students industry award rates or above, with a recommendation to follow the federal minimum pay rates.
Recruitment Process
To recruit a student trainee, employers must confirm and finalize their intention to recruit by October, ensuring the student can commence the traineeship in the new year. The recruitment process varies depending on the degree program:
- For single-degree programs, employers can recruit first-year students who will begin their traineeships in their second year.
- For double-degree programs, employers can recruit second-year students who will begin their traineeships in their third year.
International Students
International students are also eligible for the traineeships and are encouraged to apply. They have the flexibility to work up to 48 hours per fortnight during sessions, with unrestricted work eligibility during session breaks. International students are exceptionally talented and have curricular support to develop their work-readiness.
