The Community-Based Hearing and Speech/Language Screenings program offers hearing and speech/language screenings for children aged 3 and above, as well as adults, in various community settings such as preschools, schools, and other centers.

Program Details

• The screenings are conducted by a team of graduate clinicians under the supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.
• The team travels to the designated locations to perform the screenings, requiring access to electrical outlets for the audiology equipment.
• The screening area should be as free as possible from ambient noise to ensure accurate testing.

Screening Process

• Screenings must be scheduled in advance, with separate scheduling periods for the fall and spring semesters.
• A per person charge is applied for each screening test, which includes one hearing re-screening for individuals who do not respond to all tones during the initial screening.
• The re-screening is typically scheduled approximately two weeks after the initial screening date.

Results and Recommendations

• Upon completion of the screening, the facility or school receives a written summary of the results and recommendations.
• Individual letters are also provided to distribute to parents, reporting the screening results and recommendations for their child.
• An invoice for the screening services is included with the results and recommendations.
