Program Overview

Welcome to the M.Ed. in Higher Education Program

The M.Ed. in Higher Education online format utilizes a cohort model that enables students to earn their master's degree in two years. The online program adheres to the same admission, coursework, and performance expectations as our face-to-face program. Our online M.Ed. is regularly ranked among the nation's best by U.S. News & World Report, alongside several other online programs in the UH College of Education.

Program Overview

The online M.Ed. program is an excellent option for full-time higher education professionals seeking career advancement, but who are unable to physically visit the UH campus (or any university campus) multiple times each week. The online format makes earning a master's degree in Higher Education possible for students who are place-bound, or who have existing family or work obligations that make it difficult to regularly attend face-to-face class meetings.

Coursework and Program Structure

All of the online courses follow the same design structure and layout, making it simple for students to navigate the virtual classroom environment. Courses are taught by faculty who have online teaching experience, and students are able to meet with their professors by phone, or virtually. Our online students have ready access to technical support and resources from the college's Center for Instructional Technology in Education (CITE) and UH's Office of Distance Education.

The program is led by experienced faculty, including:

  • Dr. Vincent D. Carales
  • Dr. Tiffany J. Davis
