Scholar Enrichment Program

The Scholar Enrichment Program (SEP) is designed to create a learning community for students in high-risk classes. The program features workshops that enhance learning and problem-solving skills.

Program Details

• The program offers tutoring in 18 subjects, accessible to all students regardless of major, at no cost.
• Tutoring services are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Workshops are designed to support students enrolled in gateway science and mathematics courses, such as calculus, chemistry, and physics.

Awards and Recognition

• The program is a recipient of the INSIGHT into Diversity Magazine's Inspiring Programs in STEM Award.
• The program also received the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Star Award.

Louis Stokes Alliance

The Louis Stokes STEM Pathways & Research Alliance is a model alliance that aims to increase the accessibility of STEM disciplines for all students.

Program Statistics

• 45+ STEM workshops are offered each semester.
• 27 courses are supported by the tutoring center.
• 210+ SEP scholars are supported on scholarships per semester.
• 80+ peer facilitators are involved in the program.
• 1,200+ students attend workshops per semester.
• $200,000+ in scholarships are awarded each semester.
