Program Overview

Introduction to the Scuola Triennale Formatori e Formatrici

The Scuola Triennale Formatori e Formatrici is a three-year training program offered by the Centro Interdisciplinare Scienze per la Pace (CISP) at the University of Pisa. The program aims to contribute to the construction of positive peace through the study and promotion of conditions for transforming conflicts, reducing violence, and building sustainable peace.

Objectives

The program has the following objectives:

  • Offer participants basic knowledge of learning processes and group dynamics, integrating theoretical parts with laboratory experiences.
  • Present different approaches, methodologies, models, and training styles, as well as techniques and tools for training.
  • Enable participants to reflect on their communication style and training dynamics.
  • Provide a "toolbox" of techniques and training tools.

Target Audience

The program is designed for individuals who want to develop skills to become professional trainers or those who already work as trainers and want to update or specialize their skills. This includes educators, socio-educational operators, youth animators, school teachers, university students, and volunteers in associations.

Methodology

The program features a strong experiential component, with courses conducted mainly in a laboratory format. The approach is active and dynamic, with significant laboratory experiences, including interactive lessons, simulations, guided exercises, group discussions, reflections, and evaluations.

Curriculum

The program consists of two types of courses:

  • Obbligatori (Mandatory Courses): These include courses such as Teorie della formazione e processi di apprendimento, Metodologie della formazione online, Valutazione dei processi di apprendimento, Comunicazione nonviolenta e ascolto attivo, and others.
  • Corsi a Scelta (Elective Courses): Participants can choose from a variety of courses based on their interests and the program's annual offerings.

Certification

Participants can receive certification upon completing certain requirements, including:

  • Attestato CAF (Corso di Alta Formazione) Livello Base (10 CFU): Requires 5 CFU from mandatory courses and 5 CFU from elective courses.
  • Attestato CAF (Corso di Alta Formazione) Livello Intermedio (20 CFU): Requires 10 CFU from mandatory courses and 10 CFU from elective courses, with at least 2 CFU from a residential course.
  • Attestato CAF (Corso di Alta Formazione) Livello Avanzato (30 CFU): Requires 15 CFU from mandatory courses, 15 CFU from non-mandatory courses (with at least 2 CFU from a residential course), and passing a final exam.

Seminars

The program also offers free training seminars, open to both enrolled participants and the general public, which serve as a final exam for those seeking certification and as a platform for presenting new themes or for formators to showcase their skills.

Staff and Policy

The teaching staff includes the CISP's Team of Trainers and external professionals. The CISP adheres to a policy of gender equality in selecting instructors and aligns its courses with the objectives of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

Organigramma and Comitato Scientifico

The program is led by a Direttrice (Director), with a Responsabile Scientifico (Scientific Responsible) and a Responsabile Didattica (Didactic Responsible). The Comitato Scientifico (Scientific Committee) includes professors and experts from various universities and institutions.

Cost and Scholarships

The cost of the courses is indicated in the technical sheet of each course. Reduced fees are available for certain categories, including students, university employees, and volunteers. There are also scholarships available, including one for students of the "Scienze per la Pace" degree course at the University of Pisa and one for economic reasons.
