About Program
Program Overview
Computational Mathematics: Laboratory
The Computational Mathematics: Laboratory program is led by Teacher Gianna M. Del Corso.
Time
The program schedule is as follows:
- Monday 9-11 Room I
- Thursday 11-13 Room I
Student Reception
Student reception is on Friday 10am or by appointment.
Objectives
The course aims to describe, implement, and experiment with important numerical algorithms. Specifically, it will analyze some application areas that require numerical knowledge, such as:
- Digital image processing (geometric manipulations, noise cleaning, deblurring)
- Image compression algorithms (truncated SVD and PCA, JPEG format, Haar transform)
- Algorithms for the WEB (Clustering, Ranking) The course uses the Octave language.
