The Ontario/Rhône-Alpes (ORA) Summer Language Program is a short-term study abroad option designed for full-time degree students interested in exploring French culture and improving their French language skills.

Program Fees and Financial Assistance

• Application fee: No ($60 ILOP fee for successful applicants)
• Program fee: See program fees
• Costs borne by student: Travel documentation, flights, accommodation, meals, insurance
• Tuition: Payable to partner institution
• Financial assistance: $1,200 scholarship

Eligibility and Application

• There is no French-language prerequisite for successful participation in the Summer Language Program.
• Classes are offered at various levels, including beginners' level.
• Students must apply for an International Letter of Permission (Arts and Science students only) to earn a 3.0 unit FREN transfer credit.
• Students outside of the Faculty of Arts and Science must connect with their faculty office to determine the process of transferring this credit.

Program Description

The program includes an extracurricular program as well as excursions to places of interest in the region, offering a unique and enjoyable learning experience in the classroom.
