Program Overview


Introduction to the Student Strengths Coaching Program

The Student Strengths Coaching Program is a unique opportunity for students to develop their coaching skills and support their peers in discovering their strengths. This program is designed for undergraduates who are passionate about helping others and are interested in gaining career experience.


Program Overview

Through this program, students will:


  • Understand their own strengths and how they impact all areas of their life
  • Learn and apply the foundations of strengths and well-being, including the 34 CliftonStrengths talent themes developed by The Gallup Organization
  • Make an impact in the lives of students through the learning and application of coaching skills in real-life scenarios, supported by dynamic and knowledgeable faculty and staff
  • Gain experience that can be applied in their professional career
  • Have an on-campus job with flexible hours and competitive pay

Qualifications

To be eligible for the program, students must:


  • Be an undergraduate who will be a sophomore, junior, or senior during the school year
  • Demonstrate awareness of and curiosity about strengths
  • Be committed to personal growth and helping others grow
  • Be able to complete UNIV 379 Strengths Coaching Education in Fall 2026
  • Be able to fulfill paid coaching hours in Spring 2027 (average of 10 hours a week)
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 throughout the training and coaching semesters

Program Requirements

Students must:


  • Take the CliftonStrengths assessment
  • Apply for the program and interview during the application window
  • Successfully complete UNIV 379 Strengths Coaching Education in Fall 2026
  • Commit to approximately 10 hours a week in Spring 2027, with an opportunity to continue in future semesters
  • Participate in paid employment, including coaching, meetings, and other programmatic activities

The application process is as follows:


  • January 2026: Application opens
  • February 2026: Application closes
  • March 2026: Finalists notified
  • Mid-Late March 2026: Interviews
