University Sustainability Program

The University Sustainability program at George Mason University features the Patriot Packout (PPO), a sustainable move-out initiative. This initiative collects donated items to address basic needs and reduce waste.


Program Description

The Patriot Packout is a key component of the University Sustainability program, focusing on reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Interns participating in this program will support the planning and execution of PPO alongside the University Sustainability team and the PPO Planning Committee.


Key Responsibilities

  • PPO Implementation Support:
    • Lead volunteer shifts for donation collection and redistribution
    • Organize and transport donations to storage
    • Assist in donation events and track collected data
  • PPO Planning Committee Support:
    • Attend meetings and provide feedback for initiative planning
    • Collaborate on developing planning materials, logistics, and volunteer schedules
    • Handle administrative tasks and maintain Committee records
