Global Affairs Programs

The Global Affairs programs offer students a comprehensive education in global issues, research methods, and critical thinking. The programs are designed to provide students with a deep understanding of global affairs and prepare them for careers in international relations, diplomacy, and global governance.

Honors in the Major

The opportunity to graduate with honors in Global Affairs is open to exceptional students with an interest in researching global issues. To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 with at least 60 credits completed at the beginning of the honors sequence.

Honors Program Requirements

The honors program requires students to take a two-semester course sequence: GLOA 491 (fall semester) and GLOA 492 (spring semester). In GLOA 491, students learn interdisciplinary research methods with a focus on global issues and learn how to write an effective proposal. In GLOA 492, students research and write a substantial research paper, based on the proposal, while working closely with their faculty mentor.

• Identify graduate school interests, clarify career goals, and add a distinction to their resume that will impress future graduate schools and employers.

• Cross-cultural dimensions of alcohol abuse Honors in the major students are not limited to a particular theme, research method, or region and can explore any of their interests.
