My Open Badge: what it is and how to obtain it

The Open Badge is an internationally recognised digital document that certifies the skills acquired by the student. To obtain the Polimi Tour Guide Badge, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Participation in the training day
  • Good availability to lead the scheduled tours during the academic year
  • Give a feedback to the communications sent by e-mail from the Office in charge
  • Filling in the tours report file the Office in charge will share with the tour guides
  • Positive feedback from the office

Who can apply?

Any student enrolled for the A.Y. 2024/2025 at Politecnico di Milano in Laurea Triennale (equivalent to Bachelor of Science), Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) and PhD courses, who also intend to enrol for the A.Y. 2025/2026.


How to apply

Interested students can write to arrange a knowledge meeting. The project is run on a voluntary basis; as such, this is not a paid position. Students will be selected taking into consideration the following criteria:


  1. Known languages (English and Italian)
  2. Availability
  3. Motivation
  4. Previous experiences

Duration

The project runs on an academic year basis, according to the academic calendar.


Training

No specific training is required. The Community Life and Merchandising Unit will support students in acquiring the necessary skills, organise a meeting to explain how the project works, answer all questions, and send the material containing all the information needed to do the Polimi Tour Guide job.
