The Laboratorio di Matematica per Architettura (Mathematics Laboratory for Architecture) is a university program designed for students of architecture. The program aims to illustrate the applications of mathematical concepts in the field of architecture and provide students with the opportunity to practice and deepen their understanding of these concepts through exercises and video lessons.

Program Description

The program is a "laboratory of mathematics" where students can practice and better understand the essential mathematical knowledge required for their profession. It is dedicated to students preparing for the mathematics exam in the first year of architecture, but it can also be useful for those who are encountering problems with university-level mathematics. The program focuses on the applications of mathematical concepts in architecture, rather than theoretical aspects, and includes exercises and video lessons to help students develop their skills.

Program Structure

The program consists of 6 weeks, each covering a specific topic:

• Week 1: Matrix and vector calculus
• Week 2: Linear systems
• Week 3: Geometry in space
• Week 4: Elementary functions
• Week 5: Continuity and differentiability
• Week 6: Integrals

Each week includes video lessons, quizzes, and tests to help students verify their understanding of the concepts presented.

• Apply matrix and vector calculus to concrete problems
• Understand and solve linear systems

Program Prerequisites

The program requires a basic understanding of arithmetic, algebra, Euclidean geometry, and analytical geometry. Students who need to review these concepts are advised to take the MOOC "Introduction to mathematics for university: Pre-Calculus".

Program Evaluation

The program includes quizzes and tests to evaluate students' understanding of the concepts presented. Students can access their scores and track their progress throughout the program.

Program Certificate

The program offers an Open Badge, which can be obtained by completing the program and achieving a minimum score of 60% on the quizzes and tests.
