The Energy Management for Real Estate - Fundamentals, Methods, and Digital Tools MOOC is designed to provide essential skills and knowledge for addressing the energy management process in real estate. Course Description
The figure of the Energy Manager (EM) was introduced in the United States in the early 1970s and later in Italy through Law 308/82 and Law 10/91. An Energy Manager is responsible for managing energy within a company, public body, or structure, including verifying energy consumption, optimizing it, and promoting interventions aimed at energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources. The course covers the necessary information to verify consumption, optimize consumption, promote energy-aware behavior, and propose improvement investments.

- Assess the main parameters that affect buildings' energy demand

- Assess the energy audit of the building
- Know the main solutions to increase the energy efficiency of the building
Week 4
- Perform a proper digital energy model of the buildings
- Apply the strategies of energy efficiency into building retrofit
Prerequisites
No prerequisite knowledge is required for this course.

Assessment
The final grade for the course will be based on the results of answers to assessed quizzes. Learners must score a total of 60% (or higher) in each of the assessed quizzes to successfully complete the course.

Learners can achieve a certificate in the form of an Open Badge for this course by obtaining at least 60% of the total score in the graded quizzes and filling in the final survey.
