Program Overview
Introduction to the Laurea Triennale Program
The Laurea Triennale program in Ingegneria Fisica (Engineering Physics) is a three-year undergraduate degree offered by the Politecnico di Milano. This program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in physics, mathematics, and engineering, preparing them for a career in various fields.
Program Details
- Level: Laurea di Primo Livello – Ordinamento 270/04
- Class of Laurea: L-08 – Ingegneria dell'Informazione, L-09 – Ingegneria Industriale
- Location: Campus di Milano Leonardo
- Affiliation: Scuola di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione
- Duration: 3 years
- Official Language: Italian
Program Structure
The program is structured into three years, with a total of 180 CFU (University Credits). It offers three different paths that diverge in the third year:
- F1L – Laboratorio Progettuale, which is preparatory for entering the Laurea Magistrale without formative debts.
- F1N – Propedeutico a Ingegneria Nucleare, dedicated to students who intend to continue their studies with the Laurea Magistrale in Nuclear Engineering.
- FFT/FDT – Informazione/Industriale with an internship in companies, for immediate professional outlet. This path confers a first-level title with a maximum of 15 credits of formative debt for access to the Laurea Magistrale.
Disciplinary Areas
The 180 CFU necessary for the achievement of the title substantially cover the following disciplinary areas:
- General physics, physics of matter, and chemistry
- Mathematics, computer science, and statistics
- Basic engineering disciplines
- Information and industrial engineering disciplines
Objectives
The distinction between the first and second level of laurea is identified by the achievement of "an adequate mastery of general scientific methods and contents, even in the case where [the laurea] is oriented towards the acquisition of specific professional skills" (at the first level) and by "a high-level training for the exercise of high qualification activities in specific areas" (at the second level).
Coordinator of the Course of Laurea
The coordinator of the Laurea Triennale program in Ingegneria Fisica is Prof. Giacomo Ghiringhelli.
Presentation
The Laurea Triennale in Ingegneria Fisica is an interclass course that, for the purposes of access to the state exam, complies with the ministerial requirements for both the Information Engineering class (L-08) and the Industrial Engineering class (L-09). The student must choose the class of membership by the beginning of the third year.
Conclusion
The Laurea Triennale program in Ingegneria Fisica at the Politecnico di Milano offers a comprehensive education in engineering physics, providing students with a solid foundation for future academic or professional pursuits. With its structured program and various paths for specialization, this degree prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in the fields of information and industrial engineering.
