Program Overview


Introduction to Digi Skills BSc Lauree Triennali

The Digi Skills program is a mandatory 4-credit course for first- and second-year students of the three-year Bachelor's degree in Architectural Design. The program aims to provide students with basic digital skills in line with the UNESCO/UIA Charter recommendations.


Brief History

The Digi Skills program was launched in 2020 as a mandatory internship program for second-year students of the Bachelor's degree in Architectural Design. The program has been activated in 20 sections, with approximately 1,000 students participating each year, totaling around 4,000 students since its inception.


Objectives

The primary objective of the Digi Skills program is to equip students with fundamental skills and knowledge in digital tools and technologies used in architectural design. The program focuses on 3D modeling, interoperability, visual prototyping, and introduction to parametric modeling and BIM.


Program Structure

The program consists of online lectures and exercises, with three in-person assessments throughout the semester. The assessments evaluate students' progress and understanding of the course material.


Software and Tools

The program utilizes various software and tools, including:


  • Rhinoceros for 3D modeling
  • QGIS and Metashape for data acquisition and processing
  • Twinmotion for video and image editing
  • Ultimaker Cura for 3D printing

Docents and Tutors

The program is taught by a team of young researchers, assignees, PhD students, and young professionals who have demonstrated expertise in the field.


Rules for Obtaining Credits

Students must participate in online lectures and exercises, complete assignments, and pass three in-person assessments to obtain the 4 credits. The assessments are held throughout the semester, and the final evaluation takes place in December.
