The Doctoral Program in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon (FA-ULisboa), aims to provide advanced research training, leading to the creation and transmission of knowledge. Objectives

Structure

• The first year involves attending several curricular units to acquire knowledge and skills in research methodologies, lines of investigation, and constructing an individual research project.
• The second and third years are dedicated to developing and operationalizing the research, culminating in the defense of the dissertation.

Academic Calendar

• The FA-ULisboa offers two academic calendars for doctoral courses:
  • Normal regime: Classes and evaluation periods occur between September and July, every Friday.
  • Intensive regime: Classes occur every day, with each semester lasting 5 weeks.

Observations

• This is a new cycle of studies in the distance learning mode, replacing the previously existing cycle with the same designation.
• It begins in the academic year following its approval.

• Remaining years: 1,750 (indicative)

International Student Admission

• Same tuition fees as national students
• Admission requirements include international student competition
