Program Overview

The Doutoramento em Alteraçőes Climáticas e Políticas de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies) is a joint initiative between the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) and the New University of Lisbon (Universidade Nova de Lisboa).

Program Objectives

The primary objective of this PhD program is to train specialists in climate change and sustainable development policies who can contribute significantly to identifying, analyzing, and implementing new sustainable development strategies in the face of increasing anthropogenic climate change risks during the 21st century.

Program Structure

• The program has a duration of 6 semestres (3/4 years).
• It includes an advanced interdisciplinary training course between physical, natural, social, and human sciences in the first and second semesters.
• The target audience is diverse, including students interested in pursuing an academic career, as well as professionals in the areas of environment, planning, and energy, among others.

Operating Regime

The course is taught in association between the Faculdade de Cięncias, Faculdade de Letras, Instituto de Cięncias Sociais, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, and Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, and the Faculdade de Cięncias Sociais e Humanas and Faculdade de Cięncias e Tecnologia of the New University of Lisbon.
