Program Overview
The University of Lisbon offers a Master's degree in Museology and Museography, which aims to deepen and update scientific and technological knowledge in the areas of Museology and Museography.
Objectives
The program seeks to connect theoretical reflection with practical intervention capabilities in the specificity of the study and management of collections and the complex and diverse universe of museums in our time. It also aims to provide conditions for the development of innovative museological projects based on rigorous professionalization and concurrent academic qualification.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a degree in Licenciado or equivalent in artistic and social science areas.
- Hold a foreign academic degree in the areas of art and social sciences, recognized as meeting the objectives of a Licenciado degree.
- Hold a foreign academic degree in the areas of art and social sciences, recognized by the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
- Have a school, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized as demonstrating the capacity to complete the cycle of studies.
Tuition Fees
The indicative tuition fee for the first year is 1,400.00, and for the remaining years, it is 1,250.00.
Program Structure
The program has a duration of 4 semesters and is taught in Portuguese. It consists of 120 ECTS and is offered in a part-time regime.
Accreditation
The program is accredited by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) until February 18, 2031.
Registration
The program is registered with the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) under the number R/A-Ef 1856/2011.
