Objetivos
The specific objectives of the Master's course are to provide students from various disciplines with the acquisition of specific and integrated skills in advanced training, with a strong theoretical, methodological, and critical reflection component, possibly in a practical application context, prioritizing the following domains:
- The dynamics of contemporary spatial organization in the context of globalization and global-local relations
- The processes and expressions of spatial injustice and segregation in urban environments
- The transformations of the economy and the environment and their territorial repercussions at various scales
- The conflicts associated with changes in geopolitics and competition for resources
- The trends of population mobility and migration and the construction of culturally diverse territories
- The cultural production of landscapes in their material, textual, and performative dimensions, and the symbolic, experiential, and emotional meanings of space and place
- The way social and spatial organization changes are articulated
Saídas Profissionais
The training in the Master's course in Human Geography: Globalization, Society, and Territory is oriented towards two types of professional outputs: researchers and professionals in regional and urban planning and development, with solid theoretical training, attentive to the cultural diversity of contemporary societies, and with a high sense of social responsibility in territorial intervention practices. Employers are public and private consulting, planning, and territorial planning organizations, NGOs, as well as research entities.

Admission criteria include:
- Holders of a degree or equivalent legal degree in areas such as territorial sciences, social sciences, and economics, political and legal sciences, environmental sciences, and other related areas
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the statutorily competent scientific body of the higher education institution where they intend to be admitted
- Holders of a school, scientific, or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting to the capacity for realization of this cycle of studies by the statutorily competent scientific body of the higher education institution where they intend to be admitted
