Mestrado Conjunto Erasmus Mundus "Resilience in Educational Contexts"

Introduction

The Mestrado Conjunto Erasmus Mundus "Resilience in Educational Contexts" is a joint master's program resulting from a European application to the Erasmus Mundus Program. The partners include the Universities of Malta, Creta, Lisboa, and Stefan Cel Mare, along with five international associate partners. In Portugal, the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana and the Instituto de Educação represent this consortium, presenting an innovative program for developing competencies aimed at current and future educational challenges.


Presentation of the Course

This master's program contributes to creating learning environments that promote resilience and socioemotional competencies through the training of professionals linked to educational contexts. It provides tools, resources, and learning contexts that facilitate academic, social, and emotional learning, consequently promoting social inclusion and active citizenship. The program includes a set of curricular units designed to develop competencies that enable a better approach and response to the socioemotional needs of students, with special attention to those at risk, including those from ethnic, linguistic, and migrant communities, and students with learning difficulties and/or specific educational health needs.


Objectives

  • Analyze critically and evaluate the main theories and models of resilience in children and adolescents
  • Identify components of educational contexts that favor the promotion of student resilience
  • Analyze and adopt experiential and collaborative approaches in teaching and learning resilience
  • Identify factors that influence the quality of implementing resilience promotion programs
  • Identify and adopt strategies to promote the resilience of professionals linked to educational contexts
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate resilience programs in different educational contexts
  • Identify and adopt different collaborative strategies with parents, caregivers, and other professionals in promoting the resilience of children and young people in a transdisciplinary approach
  • Demonstrate knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and ethical codes of conduct applicable to investigations centered on promoting resilience

Target Audience

The course aims to develop competencies in professionals who work in educational contexts, such as teachers, educators, psychologists, higher education and rehabilitation technicians, among others, to better address and respond to the socioemotional needs of students.

Accreditation
