Introduction to the Master's Program in Museology and Museography
The Master's course in Museology and Museography is designed to deepen and update scientific and technological knowledge in the fields of museology and museography. It aims to link theoretical reflection with practical intervention ability in the specific fields of study and management of collections and in the complex and diverse museum universe of our time.
Objectives
The program seeks to provide conditions for the development of innovative museum projects based on rigorous professionalization and combined academic training. It also aims to open up to contemporary art and culture, ensuring a comprehensive approach to museology and museography.

- All classes are conducted in Portuguese, and an independent knowledge of the Portuguese language (at least B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is recommended.

Admission Criteria
Candidates for the Master's in Museology and Museography must meet one of the following criteria:
- Holders of the licenciado degree or legal equivalent in the artistic, sciences of art, and social sciences areas, as well as in identical or related areas.
- Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State acceding to this process in the artistic, sciences of art, and social sciences areas, as well as in identical or related areas.
- Holders of a foreign academic degree in the artistic, sciences of art, and social sciences areas, as well as in identical or related areas, which is recognized as meeting the objectives of a Licenciado degree by the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
- Holders of an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Fine Arts as attesting the capacity to attend the study programme.

Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the course are set annually by the General Council of the Universidade de Lisboa and may include differentiated values for international students under the International Student Statute. Tuition fees can be paid in instalments, as defined by the Management Council of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes.
