Overview
The Master's in Microbiology offers a modern and competitive education in microbiology. The program is centered on the study of microorganisms, which is essential for understanding the fundamental mechanisms of life and enabling new developments and applications in industrial biotechnology, environmental recovery and energy production, human and animal health, and the food sector. This Master's is a joint program taught by a consortium of 4 schools from the University of Lisbon: the Faculty of Sciences (FC), the Instituto Superior TÈcnico (IST), the Faculty of Medicine (FM), and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV).
Objectives
The program explores the synergies made possible in the new University of Lisbon, at the level of teaching, research, and connection to society. It aims to develop the necessary skills for innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of microbiology, preparing students for leadership positions in professional careers in microbiology and related areas.
