Objectives

The objectives of the Doping Prevention course are to:


  • Provide a broad, orderly and current view of the fight against doping in sport
  • Provide specialized knowledge and from multiple perspectives of the standards that regulate the areas of education, prevention and regulation of doping
  • Know and describe anti-doping legislation
  • Identify the procedures arising from anti-doping legislation
  • Know the generic principles of sports preparation
  • Identify and describe legal procedures for optimizing sports performance
  • Know and define the concept of doping in sport
  • Know the list of prohibited substances and methods
  • Describe the working mechanisms of doping substances
  • Know the implementation of measures to combat doping
  • Know the implementation, monitoring and interpretation of anti-doping control procedures
  • Know how the Portuguese Anti-Doping Authority and the Portuguese Doping Analysis Laboratory work
  • Critically analyze models and methods of preventive doping strategies
  • Critically analyze the implementation and evaluation of doping preventive strategies
